Story Behind the Festival

Our journey started in the Spring of 2006. We talked about renting an area to where we could give the public an idea of who we were and what we did. Suddenly a hundred posters and fifty tickets were printed, vendors were booked and the date was planned. WKTV came and gave insight to who and what we were doing, as did the Daily Sentinel. We were very excited!

Last year the same thing, we wanted more and we included a two day festival with 50+ vendors. We could of NEVER did it without the help from our friends at the Shire of Coppertree. Almost 20 people worked over 90 hours to put together the festival and be ready to create a world that guest could come and get away.

Many may ask why another festival or craft show, and well its simple.. we offer something others don't. You don't have to drive an hour away to see walking minstrels, we have those. Or wait for great food, we have that! Live shows, we have that as well. What we don't have is a admission fee and employees that just don't care about why they are there.

Matter of fact we don't have employees, we have volunteers who love doing this and they make the difference. If you would like to become one of our volunteers who love the smiles they bring to the childrens faces and our own.

This year the festival has has a few snags but we know we can make it through anything that is thrown at us.

Thank you for coming down the road with us, we promise we won't give up on your time to learn the past, don't give up on us.

Thank you from the Staff of Rome Renaissance Festival & Craft Faire.

So, we are upon a new year and a new adventure.. HAZZAH!!
